2024 - 2025 SCHOOL YEAR AUDITION PROCESS

  • All recruits wishing to audition on piano, guitar or voice, should fill out the Audition Form linked below and submit as soon as possible. Doing this will allow us to connect you with appropriate Wayland music faculty in your performance area.
  • Audition forms should be submitted to Dr. Richard Fountain via e-mail: fountainr@wbu.edu.
  • Recruits are not required to bring an accompanist. An accompanist will be available at your audition.
  • Audition material should highlight your best performance capabilities. You may perform solos, ensemble excerpts, etudes, scale series, hymns, or other material with which you are comfortable.
  • All audition videos will be viewed by a Wayland music faculty panel. We will notify you of your acceptance status and any scholarship awards as soon as we are able.
  • If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Richard Fountain by e-mail.

All music majors will be required to participate in private lessons. Lessons are assigned based on auditions in order to place students in situations that will best enhance their educational experience. This collaborative process allows students a better chance to excel in their studies.

Also, note that students seeking scholarship funding must audition before a faculty panel. Scholarship information is also available.

The Wayland School of Creative Arts adheres to TAMS policies and code of ethics concerning student musicians.
