SUBJECT: OFFICIAL COURSE INVENTORY

The university maintains both a historical and an official course inventory. The Historical Course Inventory includes all courses which have been taught for credit since 1980. The Official Course Inventory includes only those courses approved by the Academic and/or Graduate Council and listed in the university's current master computer file.

To be included in the Official Course Inventory, a proposed course including the title, number, and description must be approved by the appropriate school faculty and the Academic and/or Graduate Council. After approval by the Academic and/or Graduate Council, the proposed course must be submitted to the Faculty Senate for its recommendation.

With the approval of the appropriate school faculty and the Academic and/or Graduate Council, a course may be removed from the Official Course Inventory at any time. At the close of each spring semester, courses not taught for three calendar years are automatically deleted from the Official Course Inventory.

To be reinstated, courses deleted from the Official Course Inventory must follow the same approval process as courses initially proposed.
